He acknowledges their skill in swimming (writing poetry) and their prowess in diving into the sea, here metaphorically \u201clanguage\u201d. He humbly admits that he cannot taunt or goad them for they cannot be confounded in understanding. After addressing them with veiled satire he begins the guessing game (<em>kibafute)<\/em> in the second line of verse 3. Verses 3 to verse 7 metaphorically describe the conception and birth of a child, the latter a gem.
